Test driving another local hotel tonight, as I have a morning meeting tomorrow and the three-hour commute is even less appealing than the fun of making new discoveries in the land of the budget hotel. I still think $100 + a night for one, is for a larger budget than many (me) would think of as 'budget' hence my shock to find the horrors I have mentioned. And others I omitted, such as my kind hotelier 'forgetting' to give me back my credit card...so I had to go back out, into the howling storm, through the outside entrance into the main hotel (pub) to ask to get it back...at 11pm.....enough to make a grrrl go grrr
I will plan a little ahead today and ring to confirm an online booking. Just to be fair to my unsuspecting quarry!
(I might give the midnight bottle of sav blanc a miss as well... )Though I needed it last night after all that, of that there is no doubt.
